GammaOS Nano V1.4 Hits the A133P and There’s Still More to Come

GammaOS is moving faster than a handheld on turbo mode. Developer Gamma isn’t just cooking; he’s apparently marinating the entire kitchen. After recently dropping version 1.4 for the RG DS and RG Rotate, he’s now rolling out the same update to three more devices: the MagicX XU Retro X20 V32, the MagicX Mini Zero 28, and the TrimUI Brick. Since they all share the same Allwinner A133P chip, the experience is nearly identical across the board.

So, what’s actually new in this release? It’s a mix of quality-of-life upgrades and serious aesthetic flexes. You get faster Nintendo DS emulation via DraStic-nano, improved sleep modes for better battery life, and a built-in media browser. But the real party trick is the theme selection. You can now rock a faithful recreation of the Nintendo DSi home screen, the iconic PlayStation 3 XMB with its glassy animations, or a minimalist “Minima” theme if you prefer keeping things clean.

While the update is impressive, keep in mind that Gamma is a solo developer. There’s no guarantee on release frequency, but his progress is undeniable. If you’re enjoying these updates, his Patreon is the best way to support the work directly. Until the next drop, enjoy emulating your favorite classics with a fresh new look.
