If you’ve been dreaming of a handheld that actually feels like a real laptop rather than a glorified Switch, GPD is about to turn that fantasy into a very heavy reality. The GPD Win Max 3 is officially coming “soon,” and the specs are enough to make even desktop users do a double-take.
Forget the dainty, pocket-sized designs of the past. This thing is a beast. It features a massive 9.06-inch 165Hz OLED display and is powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen AI Max+ chips. We’re talking up to 128GB of lightning-fast LPDDR5X RAM and a beefy 97Wh battery that should hopefully last longer than your average commute.
The catch? It’s chunky. We’re looking at over a kilogram with the base unit, and that jumps to nearly 1.2kg if you slap on the external battery module. It’s essentially a mini desktop in your hands, complete with a full QWERTY keyboard, capacitive joysticks, and enough ports to dock it like a proper workstation.
