ArmadaOS Drops Their Latest Release With Aurora Store Support and Additional Dual-Screen Support
If you thought the race to build the perfect SteamOS alternative was slowing down, think again. The competition in the handheld space is getting crowded, but ArmadaOS just dropped a massive update that proves they aren’t here to play second fiddle.
The headline news? They’ve added Aurora Store support. This is a huge win for versatility, as it brings a much wider array of Android apps directly into the “Game Mode” experience. Even better, they’ve introduced dual-screen support, making the OS feel much more at home on the increasingly popular multi-display handhelds.
Beyond the big features, this release is a technical powerhouse:
- Better Hardware Support: New support for the Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 (get ready for the “mini Steam Deck” reviews to roll in).
- Graphics Upgrades: HDR support for several AYN and Retroid devices, plus selectable Turnip graphics drivers.
- Quality of Life: Improved battery drain during sleep mode and much more reliable controller calibration.
Whether you’re rocking an Odin 2 or a brand-new Ayaneo, ArmadaOS is quickly becoming a serious contender for anyone looking to break free from standard Android or SteamOS limitations.
