AMD FSR 4.1 Coming Soon to ROG Xbox Ally X, Xbox Ally X20, and More Handhelds
If you’ve ever felt the sting of handheld gaming prices, there’s a tiny silver lining: developers are finally starting to care about the hardware you already own.
AMD is officially bringing its FSR 4.1 upscaling technology to a massive wave of devices, including the Xbox Series X and a host of x86 handhelds. For ASUS owners, this is big news. The ROG Ally X and the new Ally X20 are slated to receive this as a preview update starting October 23rd.
So, why should you care? In short: better visuals without killing your frame rate. FSR is essentially the magic trick that makes games look sharper and run smoother on smaller, portable chips. With over 400 games already on the compatibility list—ranging from Call of Duty to Gears of War—your handheld library is about to get a serious facelift.
Just a heads-up: since this is a “preview” update, expect a few bugs to wiggle their way in. If you want to grab it, just head to the Update Center in Armoury Crate SE. Happy gaming!
