AYN Odin 3 Portal Officially Announced, and It Looks Almost Identical to the Odin 2 Portal
Just when we thought we could catch our breath from the dual-screen handheld craze, AYN decided to drop a surprise announcement. Meet the Odin 3 Portal.
If you were expecting a radical redesign that looks like it jumped out of a sci-fi movie, you might want to temper those expectations. AYN has confirmed that the new device will look almost identical to the Odin 2 Portal. It seems they are sticking with the current shell design to keep the “Portal” aesthetic consistent, even if they’re squeezing a larger display into the mix.
While the official spec sheet is still under wraps, we can make some pretty educated guesses. Following the pattern of previous releases, we’re likely looking at:
- The Snapdragon Dragonwing Q8 chipset.
- Up to 16GB of RAM.
- A massive 1TB of storage option.
The big question is whether we’ll see a high-end “Ultra” variant, though rising component costs might make that a pipe dream. For now, the best advice is to keep your eyes peeled for more details and, more importantly, start saving your shekels. You’re probably going to need them.
