A recent review of the prototype has raised some massive red flags. While the concept is great, the unit currently under review is, quite frankly, struggling. We’re talking about:

- Missing features: It claims “legacy signal support,” but it won’t actually accept 240p or 480i signals.
Unico promises these issues will be fixed via firmware and hardware updates before shipping, but as any seasoned Kickstarter veteran knows, “trust us” is a heavy lift. If you’re looking for a retro-themed centerpiece, the idea is solid—but you’ll want to decide if you’re comfortable betting on a redesign before hitting that pledge button.
